Moon Sighting in the Middle East

Dubai, a major metropolis in the United Arab Emirates at latitude 25.2°N, benefits from generally clear skies and favorable atmospheric conditions for crescent moon sighting. The city's location in the Arabian Gulf region typically provides good visibility windows.

As a hub for the global Muslim community, Dubai's moon sighting conditions are widely followed. Our system provides precise predictions based on local sunset and moonset times, accounting for Dubai's specific geographical position.

How Our Predictions Work

Our system calculates five key astronomical parameters at sunset: moonset lag, moon age, moon altitude, sun-moon elongation, and illumination percentage. These are fed into a machine learning model trained on over 2,000 historical crescent sighting observations to produce a confidence score from 0% to 100%.
